Well,I have learnt to hold my piece till I see the real thing.
I can only judge by the pictures and tech description.
At first glance ,it doesnt make me go WOW!There is something about the dial that I find unbalanced, maybe the earth picture takes over too much, maybe its not contrasting enough(a Rose Gold version with golden numerals would be better?),overall a bit cold but,but I need to see it live.
I would like to know how the final rendition of the earth will be,a minor problem with the Duometre a QL is that the moon disc could have been a bit better executed,so its vital for this dial to know the final version of the earth disc(enamel I doubt it but lets see, maybe its curved, laquered ,3d who knows, lets wait).
I do not like the choices of the bezel and the caseback(like the QL 40.5mm):I much prefer the straight bezel of the classic Duo,I already said it with the 40.5 which had the same bezel, but most of all I don t like the caseback ring that covers(like in the 40.5QL)part of the movement. It looks like the movement is squeezed in too much,I much prefer when the majestic Duo caliber is free to breathe like in the Chrono,QL,ST.I understand the need to engrave the city names but I cant take my eyes off that suffocating movement.
Finally I don t like the fact that a brand new model is just Boutique only,I understand an edition of a model but a complete new reference leaves me a bit disappointed.I only hope though that JLC sticks to that, rather than making another version non limited, that will damage the brand credibility. But with JLC and editions ,you'll never know.
I might sound too critical, but as I said I need to see it live and make a better judgement.Unfortunately not a big jump on the chair for me this time.
