Jaeger-LeCoultre

I was fortunate to have this on my wrist yesterday

I was very fortunate to be in the London boutique and tried it on along with the chrono. To be honest, I have had a weird relationship with the dumoetre. In the past, whenever I have tried on one of the duometre chronos I have left without forming a bond. When not on my wrist, I keep looking at pictures and wondering why there is no bond. IIt is a spellbinding watch to look at.

However, yesterday in the boutique I tried on the Lunaire next to the Chrono....and suddenly I saw what the issue was. The Lunaire dial, in my humble view, is an excellent balance. The Chronograph, as beautiful as it is, is perhaps not as balanced on the dial. I think it is right that after a while, the dial becomes easy to read, but on the Lunaire there appears at least to me to be a much kinder balance. With that gorgeous black dial and blue moonphase offset, the dial is magical. Mesmerising indeed. For me,  a most beautiful watch. Having said that, when I put the retrograde on, there was a definite feeling of hairs standing on end....so not quite the same thrill as that but certainly a big thrill.

I was hoping to sell a vintage piece that might have funded a purchase of this watch but alas is not to be. So, it goes on my list of watches that I want that need patience. Either patience or a 25% rise in teh equity market...hahahaha

I am not good at patience....but will need to be.
