A skeleton version would be quite expensive, less in stainless steel, of course, but high priced, yet. Would you be ready to pay something between 2 and 3 times the price of the normal SS version? Best, Nicolas.

many thangs for sharing these gerat pics amanico. JLC made one of the hell of a watch which has nothing to envy to patek, vacheron and ap. Movement and dial finish are simply stunning.

JLC has reintroduced a very tangible and practical perpetual calendar. The steel version looks appealing but I wait to see it in the metal. I like a lot the functionality and robust appearance of caliber 876, and the improvements to the case, but I wonder... 

We are so used to see the former version that a new design of the dial may be disturbing, at the beginning. I feel the dial is cleaner, simpler than on the former version. It is really a matter of ( individual ) taste, here. To be seen in trhe flesh! Best...

The lack of the applied 12 makes this dial cleaner " emptier " than on the former version. Some will prefer it lke this, others may regret the former Master 8 Days PC... Tough discussion. Best, Stefan. Nicolas.

dreamy..!! I'm not convinced by the new moon phase but with a black dial (like on the new Duometre a Quantieme Lunaire) it might look just perfect....the black dial on the Duo has made many a man suddenly order one with good reason, and show's what a simp...

on the original it is obvious but I find this one hard to tell...it may seem better in the flesh. On the original the bottom is just stars which is obviously a new moon and the top is a full moon, but on this new one the bottom looks like a moon..!! What ... 

The smaller size is better, it is still plenty big, and I like the new moonphase. The blue moonphase contrasts nicely with the red gold case, overall more attractive. Thanks for the post. Stewart

But as on all PC – a lot of information crammed into a very small space. For me this version is much more appealing then the previous. One thing I find strange is the text on the right hand side sub dial: 8 days + PC… While power reserve and day/night ind... 

And it is a precious information, to avoid to damage the movement when you set the perpetual calendar at the wrong lap of time ( between 9 PM and 3 AM ). Thay might be corrected, IMO. As for the moonphase, I do think the same than you: Perfectible. For th... 

I think that my favorite is still the Skeleted version, it was interesting to learn more about it ! But as you said it is a quite affordable watch for a QP, whereas the skeleted version was around 70 K€ Cordially, Mark This message has been edited by Bor... 

By the way, when it was launched, the MSRP was 80 K Euros, in 2007, for the platinum version. We're not in the same league, in terms of finish and prices, with the latest 8 Days Perpetual in SS. But I can easily understand your passion for the skeleton! B...

...over the painted moonphase graphic. I very much prefer the regular moonphase disc over this kind of display. If they did that and take away the black border around the year display, I'm sure my fiancee and I will have a very troubling financial argumen...

....which I prefer, and some aspects of the original model that I like better. On the new release I prefer the moonphase and the dial does seem cleaner and more elegant. However, the day/night indicator and power reserve on the old model are better for me... 

Hi Daos, your post sums up my impressions as well. An additional feature I like about the new QP is its smaller case diameter. Overall the dial looks clearer, the MP is great, PR and D/N indications are less impressive - as you said ! Anyway, I´m happy th...

But you can't put them on the new Master 8 Days Perpetual... The dial would loose its coherence, imo, as the former indicators were more ... demonstrative, somehow modern, while the new ones are more conservative. Difficult to please everyone. But good po... 

Yes, your points are very good. There's no way the old PR and night/day indicator could feel at home on this new QP. The new refinement of the model is pleasing in its own way. Cheers, Daos

The "old" was pretty good, but this new version seems to have so much more class. As you described, the moonphase indicator is much nicer, and so is the more simple looking dial as a whole. I am not a big fan of YG or RG watches, but for this one I make a... 

Some of the 2011 novelties will come in a very few weeks, now. There will be 3 " waves ": April / June / October. My guess is that the Master Moon and this watch will arrive in June. Will keep you updated as soon as I have the definitive information. Best...

I like the cleaner look offered by smaller sub-dials, the new moonphase and that it is available in steel. Could it be my first 'dress watch'? I really look forward to see one in real. My only wish is an addition of a sweep second, to add a little life to... 

A Perpetual Calendar is something which can be considered as immutable, while a second hand gives life, as you said it. Paradox, or complement? That is a good question! Best, Nicolas.

Believe me, it is better to have this kind of dilemmas, rather to not have any! The problem is that there are many tempting JLC watches, this year: The TT DSAs, TT 1931s, The MUT Moon 39, this PC, the Duometre à Q.L in WG which is also a true beast, ... 

I have a really fond memory of the 8 days perp. I remember watching the television with my dad a few years back,a report on that year s SIHH came up,the year the Reverso Squadra was introduced(2006/7???).A big wow for me....it started the whole madness...... 

We can't really compare the Skeleton with the latest 8 Days Perpetual. When you're obsessed, you can't have interest on another version, even if interesting. I do hear what you say about the Power Reserve and Day / Night indicator: They are minimalist, si... 

but out of the 2 version I still prefear the original 8 days..... You made that decision....I am sure for the better...you enjoyed though... As for me..I made a decision yesterday....... Mo

It's amazing how taking away the 12 (which was always a misfit IMO) and changing the minute markers makes such a difference. Of course the subdial redesigns also helped this bear more than a family resemblance to its cousin in the Grande Tradition range. ...

A really beautiful watch in almost every respect. There's only one thing I did not like at all, the hands used for the watch, for hours and mins, as well as for the sub dials. This particular style never appealed to me somehow. Rishad
