I asked a designer friend of mine to provide an illustration.

I figured as the watch cost £7,000, and the engraving £1,500, it was worth spending £50 to have an illustration prepared professionally. My friend designed the decks of cards that I use, so he said it was relatively quick and easy for him to provide a black and white design with hints of green. As you can see in the photos, the indices on the cards actually extend above and below the picture frame on the card, and the indices themselves are quite small compared with the overall size of the card. So I asked my designer to enlarge the indices and have the picture frame of the engraving extend right to the top and bottom of the casebook. I gave him the dimensions of the flat surface on the casebook, and he made sure the design made good use of the space available. JLC are very good at tweaking the design I provided to take into account their expertise of what is possible using engraving and lacquering.
Having said that, I think many clients simply provide JLC with a photograph, or even just a rough description of what they would like.

And this time with an engraving on the verso. It joins my Burgundy. And now I wait for a black dial version. ...
About 6 months.

It's not a quick process, but I think it's often a bit quicker than that. Mine was delayed unfortunately. Yes, it was done by JLC via my friends at the London Boutique.
Love it!

Looks amazing, 6 months seems almost lucky from what I heard though...
Love it…well played 👏🏼

The touch of green is too nice. Are you a cardician (card magician) or card illusionist…or even pro poker player? You clearly have a notable appreciation for cards.
Thank you ArmisE.

I'm a member of The Magic Circle, but more of a mentalist, and less of a "cardician" (or "cardigan" as my spellcheck prefers). I use cards to read minds. A little like Derren Brown or Kreskin.
Truly intriguing!

There’s no question about who’s “the life of the party” when you’re around. 👏🏼
Ok

I am still thinking whether to engrave mine with an idea I have. But when asked for sample i didn’t like it that much and would require more detail and work. Having said that - the detail on yours is quite extensive - wonderful. So it should be possible. ...
