Patek's "Grand Complications" first section in their catalog has many "just" QPs. I, along with you, have considered the 3 comps together: QP, Repeater (or Tourbillon) and Chrono (especially rattrapante), to be the quintessential "Grande Complication." Understandably, there are many "difficult to produce" combinations out there, but I think there should be a glossary somewhere that defines the term.
Interestingly, THIS pocket watch was produced after JLC had been supplying so many others with the same movement for roughly 28 years. They had sold it to PP, AP, Breitling, Tissot, Union, etc.
I think, under the new leadership, JLC needs to start flexing some more muscle, and letting the world know about it.
