From what I have read on Zaf's web site, the release was scheduled for "late July 2008 if all goes as planned." (posted on the 12th of May) But if you have more fresh information, I would be pleased to know the updated release date (even for a bad news...)
Concerning the JLC heritage, I don't think that the manufacture will (and even can afford to) put their exhaustive archives on the net. And I prefer to access that information through books, museum and discussions with internal curators.
For example, the best sources for official information on Omega vintage watches remain the Marco Richon's books, the visits to their museum and some direct contacts ... not at all the necessarely incomplete Database that is available in the vintage section of the Omega web site. IMHO, the net is more suitable for collaborative works and for sharing personnal experience as Chuck Maddox did with passion, generosity and rare intelligence.
