The Patek is an iconic piece, to be sure -- but, for a number of reasons, I prefer the Geophysic. The fact that the city ring is fixed is a plus -- but, even better, the cities themselves are placed on the ring so as to approximate their relative position...
I can only share your enthusiasm for that watch, my dear Jim. For me, the most important thing is the new calibre, offering the combination of a world time and a dead second.

I take your point on Swiss world time watches here. They are spectacular! Nevertheless, don’t forget that vintage Japanese watches like the Seiko worldtime GMT or the Citizen 68-0516 are much more cosmopolitan than their Swiss-based counterparts (ha ha). ...

Curious that they use the Paris-Rome (or even Madrid) nomenclature for the first meridian. Swiss watches only show the position of Paris or a couple of Swiss cities. Japanese!
I have the Orient World Time...
With the reverse-panda layout. It has guilloche dial, power reserve, is 43mm with sapphire crystal and in-house (though completely NOT decorated) movement, and it is gorgeous! And it cost me all of US $316. Oh, and the Orient movements wind very efficient...
