Thanks for the explanations, I think that I have got it now.
The watch is serial number 191 and I don't know whether that means that it is a batch 1 or not.
Guess that I will have to waite for my birthday to open the box and find out what I wound up with.
This having been said I'll probably just keep it as it is. I think that it is kind of the history of the watch and makes it more authentique.
Although the watch is a diver I don't think that I will be using it for that purpose. I have other watches more adapted to that sort of activity than the Polaris even if that was what it was originally designed for. Thus the Luminova present or not won't matter that much.
I'll restrict the Polaris for use around the pool.

As all this is very confussing to poor little me (and probably lots of other people), would it be possible for you to give a detailed description of the differences between the two dials and maybe accompany it all by some pictures showing the differences....
