Jaeger-LeCoultre

Additional information

Damien, I hope that you don't mind if I complete the post with additional photos that are worth being shared.

The name of the AD from which the box came: Sidney Mobell, in San Francisco

The other side of the tag, with a short description of the corresponding watch (without any mention to WRL) and the price displayed: $250,00.

Going back to the watch, it could have been a reward watch for the best brokers/dealers that participated to the Balanced Program, launched by WRL in the late 60s to promote their new product that combines "the security provided by life insurance and the growth potential provided by the stock market".

But was this watch directly available for sale as the price tag would suggest? Was it a local initiative conducted with a Californian AD that accepted to produce a bespoke dial and customize few standard watches he had in stock?

Good luck in your searches,

Best,
