A visit to the London Boutique in the past year...
Nov 13, 2018,11:37 AM
A table covered by masterpieces from the Manufacture...each quite different and rare.
It was a pleasure to see them up close.
On the tray:
Reverso Tribute Enamel - Georges Seurat, A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (8 pieces)
The rear of the case (the canvas) replicates the famous work in miniature using the pointillism technique which juxtaposes dots of colour with the viewers eyes naturally mixing the colours. The dial is also fired enamel in a vibrant green champlevé technique. In 18kt white gold in a case 45.5mm x 27.4mm which is the same size as the Reverso Classic Large model. The cal 822A/2 hand wound movement powers the piece.
Reverso Tribute Enamel - Katsushika Hokusai, The Great Wave off Kanagawa (8 pieces)
My favorite of the pieces on display. The case and movement the same as the piece above but with a lovely blue enamel finished in the same technique.
Reverso Tribute Gyrotourbillon
Large but much more manageable dimensions than the Gyrotourbillon 2 introduced in 2008. The piece is 31mm x 51.1mm x 12.4mm which is more 'practical' (hard to apply that description here). Made in 75 pieces in platinum. Quite heavy.
Master Ultra Thin Minute Repeater Flying Tourbillon
Just a staggering accomplishment. A minute repeater tourbillion movement < 5mm thick in a case of 7.8mm thickness (cal 362). 41mm, white gold. automatic winding with a peripheral rotor.
