Teasing??

Love the subtile introduction: "the feeling of high quality is impressive on the current Duo Metre."

Current ?? Meaning present ?? Meaning new one ??

Please Amanico, stop this teasing smile

THE JLC DUO METRE A CHRONOGRAPHE, THE FIRST PICS OF THE DEFINITIVE WATCH

 By: amanico : July 5th, 2008-05:37
Well, not mine, as I'm waiting for the platinum version which will be delivered further... For the moment, Rose Gold are the first, and a few will be delivered to some few ADs. But the important thing is to know that they are arrived, isn't it? And to exa...

Thank you, nice pictures

 By: Steyr : July 5th, 2008-06:27
Well, I was considering passing by the AD as well, but Icouldn't make it yesterday. Too bad, I'll just keep in memory the proto I had in hands. But the finish definitely looks, enhanced compared to the proto ! Regarding the dial, your macros show the irre...

Wow, fantastic! nt

thanks for the sharing, this watch is really beautiful. -S

Great review and pics. Nicolas.

 By: fernando : July 5th, 2008-08:13
I can't wait to see this beauty when it arrives. It is truly a magnificent piece and from your photos the level of finish of the movement is right there with the best of them.A wonderful achievement for JLC! Thanks for whetting our appetites again. Regards...

A real marvel, Stefan

Nicolaaaaaaas. What a pics!!!!!

 By: PET- : July 5th, 2008-07:57
Oh my god. Some weeks ago I had the duometre on my wrist. Its somethig impressive. I think its an absolute work of art. With your permission, I will take the pics in the spanish forum "Relojes Especiales"

Your HD pictures made my modem sweat, Nicolas!

 By: marcelo : July 5th, 2008-08:34
Ooops… I didn’t mention I got a crappy 200 kbps connection. LOL!!! The trip into the movement is the highlight, IMHO. There are some watches that tempt us to use them with their dial facing the wrist, but this Duometre just brings this dementia to a whole...

Vavavoooomm Wow That is hot

 By: Bill : July 5th, 2008-09:45
Hi Nicolas After seeing the watch in person last week it just reconfirms my need for one and happy I have put in a request for one. Thank you very much for the excellent pics. Bill

Wonderful back side. The calibre is a pure piece of Art,

 By: patrickh : July 5th, 2008-10:48
I think an OPEN DIAL will get another dimension to this DUOMETRE, like for AMVOX. It will be a non classical watch but how incredible,IMHO. Hope JLC thinks about that suggestion, Cheers, Patrickh

Well, don't know, Patrickh

 By: amanico : July 6th, 2008-13:54
As this Duo Metre is an hommage to the old and fine watch making, I'm not dsure that an open dial will fit the spirit of this watch... I think it's better like this. But the Chrono is the first of what will certainly be a great family! Best. Nicolas

Might now be at the top of my list

 By: emcquillan : July 5th, 2008-12:16
Thank you Nicolas for a wonderful review of a superb watch. The photgraphs were absolutely beautiful. Best,

Simply amazing !

 By: DrStrong : July 5th, 2008-13:23
thanks a lot for these pictures ! Cheers Jeff

as larry david would say...

 By: rijowysock : July 5th, 2008-14:06
PRETTY.... PRETTY......PRETTY COOL :-D damn i love this watch, and i love the price point JLC has decided on... the watch could have came sooner.. but its a beauty and worth the wait...

Thanks a lot Nico !

 By: foversta : July 5th, 2008-14:44
A beautiful report and great pics. The most interesting in this watch is the architecture of the caliber. I really find it impressive. And what a pleasure to see a new watch with a foudroyante. We can see the difference of the final version with the previ...

You've done it again Nicholas!

 By: Mech : July 5th, 2008-16:42
Yo Nic, I've always admired your accessibility to these fine watches. Your pix and writeups of the duo is awesome man!! The movement, wow, it looks as good as Dato! Ok, how about the chrono pusher? As smooth as Dato? Sorry no offense guys, it's quite hard...

Well, Mech

 By: amanico : July 6th, 2008-23:15

Superb Nicolas...

 By: pplater : July 5th, 2008-18:31
...encore,bravo! Have to agree though that the dial looks a little rough on extreme macro, but if that is the biggest issue it has been a good day. Particularly like the fact that the sunburst pattern on the bridges is centred on the 'heart' of the watch ...

I agree, it’s appropriate …

 By: AndrewD : July 6th, 2008-20:40
… to have the sunburst pattern focused on the balance, the ‘heart’ as you appropriately call it, but does anyone think that its should be focused on the ‘brain’, the column wheel? Perhaps it depends if this watch appeals more to your emotional or intellec...

Thanks for the review Nicolas!

 By: SJX : July 5th, 2008-20:54
I am glad the Duometre has finally hit the stores. I can't wait to see one for myself. - SJX

Nicolas, could you ask JLC to provide a pic

 By: patrickh : July 5th, 2008-21:36
of the front side of the calibre, just under the dial? I suppose it must be as nice as the back side. I am sure you are now waiting for, except if you already have seen it or even got it in your picture's library. Thanks a lot my friend. Best, Patrickh

Wow! It's beautiful

 By: loujo : July 5th, 2008-23:36
The overall finishing and especially the movement is extremely well done. You are a lucky guy Nicolas.

Thank you Nicolas.....

 By: Dje : July 6th, 2008-01:25
Hi my lucky friend, I'll try my luck at the boutique on Monday. Maybe it will be gone already! This Duometre is awesome. The pink gold version is my favorite! This is really a dream watch and may soon become the ultimate manual wind chrono for collectors,...

Thanks Nicolas....

 By: sclamb : July 6th, 2008-02:17
beautiful pictures of an amazing watch. A true masterpiece! Simon

Is the Duometre a limited edition?.....

 By: sclamb : July 6th, 2008-02:26
I think the yellow gold is 300 pieces, but are the rose and white gold going to be in regular production? I ask as I want one but won't be able to go for it this year. However, I may miss the chance if they are al limited production! Thanks. Simon

LE only in YG, Simon

 By: tony p : July 7th, 2008-02:04
I'm glad JLC have improved the finish for the delivered watch as compared with the prototype. It was already good, but perhaps just not quite good enough for the importance of this watch. Your pics really are superb. Cheers Tony P

perfect prose and superb pics my friend. still trying to source a Sony DSC7 for macros.

 By: G99 : July 7th, 2008-13:19
i thought the watch was superb in the flesh and these pics just highlight the detail. the dial is superbly balanced. it is one for my wishlist. thanks Nicholas. Graham

As for the camera, each compact Sony will give you the same result. Just be sure that it is equipped with a loupe ( symbol ) and you will do the same pics, my friend. Best. Nicolas

Thanks for the great shots!!!

 By: adriantsang : July 8th, 2008-08:23
I tried the proto more than a year ago and it is definitely a nice piece. Hope it will come to my town in no time.

Great photos and report, Nicholas

 By: DaMctosh : July 8th, 2008-09:09
Thanks. it's a beautiful watch . A few comments/questions if I may:- - is it 9 hands rather than 8 (the chrono having 1 more for the foudroyante)? - was the dial texture (graininess) deliberate to bring out that old world feeling? - beautiful as the movem...

Damien

...this fantastic watch!!!! While I now you are a white metal fan, you showed us the rich color of red Gold!!! 2 questions: Is there a YG model? And second: I heard that this watch is the first in a whole family... Which will be the second one? I wish you...
