Navy SEALs Alarm: What do you think?

 By: amanico : December 5th, 2012-12:54
I was enthusiast when it as released, in 2009. And I have to say, that almost 4 years after, my appreciation for this watch is still present. Among the pros, I would mention the use of titanium for the case, the ceramic bezel, the compressor crowns, the d...

I totally agree with you, Nicolas!

By: blomman Mr Blue : December 5th, 2012-13:03
Both in the pros and cons about the NSA! But no matter what you think about LE within the LE and so on... Life with the NSA is good! :) Best, my friend Blomman ...

" I use the alarm every day to wake up ".

 By: amanico : December 5th, 2012-13:59
That is the kind of thing I love to read. Call me snob, but waking up with the alarm of our beloved watches ( Not only NSA, but more generally Meemovoxes ) is much more poetic than these electonicc " buzzers "... ;) Bes,t and Bravo! Nicolas.

Poetic ...

 By: Maverik : December 7th, 2012-12:14
... indeed. But does it matter? But does it actually wake you up in the morning? Cheers Rik

Yes, Rik. It really does wake me up.

 By: amanico : December 7th, 2012-13:04
The issue is that it also wakes my wife up... And she's not very happy with that! :) Best, Nicolas.

beautiful amp too! [nt]

 By: Marv : December 5th, 2012-15:17
I was very close to buy one, but the story about the mark on the inner disk vs on the saphire glass started to make me unconfortable with the watch. Finally, the fact that the ceramic insert is simply glued on the bezel was the deciding factor. In particu...

Well, luckily, I didn't have this kind of problem with mine.

 By: amanico : December 5th, 2012-18:35
But I can easily understand that it is a No Go. Ciao, my friend. Nicolas

Such a great watch

The wording on the saphire

 By: E.S : December 6th, 2012-03:40
is too modern for me, perhaps they use laser engrave technology which doesnt has the same feeling compare with traditional method. otherwise, a super tool watch from JLC. Did you also change your sapphire? best, Ed

Love it

 By: sancerre : December 6th, 2012-04:51
Nothing else to say - not sure what I would choose if I were offered the NSA as a swap for my NS Chrono. Sancerre

Rubber crowns

 By: Ed. W : December 6th, 2012-06:09
I've always wondered about the durability of rubber coated crowns, would function be affected if the rubber begins to age?

I have it for three years now, it very often went in the sea water

Swimming pool as well, and no deterioration at all... Best, Nicolas

The NS Alarm has long remained on my mind

 By: respo : December 6th, 2012-07:08
Well, I am giving the Navy SEALs Alarm a go myself. I have a long-standing love for the Master Compressor series with those beefy, technical compressor crowns. I think it was inevitable that I got another one. I am a weak, weak man. As for the LEs within ...

Didn't know you had this one, Respo!

By: blomman Mr Blue : December 6th, 2012-13:44
Huge congrats, my friend! :) Great addition to the TT Polaris 65. One more elegant, one ruff - two awesome watches! :) Best Blomman

Thanks, Blomman! [nt]

Bill Clinton's watch...

 By: watchme : December 6th, 2012-08:46
that he wore when he delivered the Democratic Convention speech, and later, when he appeared on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart... except on articulated rubber, which is what I prefer. -Dean

Are you sure that..

 By: Ares501 - Mr Green : December 6th, 2012-08:56
your is not fake...looks like something is missing :) :) That is a watch that when I see it reminds me of you (OK one among dozen) :) but there are some fond memories connected to this watch Best my dear friend Damjan ...

I am sure mine is original. ;) Damn you! :)))

 By: amanico : December 7th, 2012-13:01
Thanks for the nice memories, my friend. Best, Nicolas

It's a beautiful watch

 By: Dr Bill : December 6th, 2012-12:23
Unfortunately, too big for my 7 1/2" wrist. Guess I'll have to 'settle' with my Master Hometime for a daily companion. :)

It is a beautiful watch but...

 By: nwp627 : December 7th, 2012-10:07
...I already owned the Master Compressor Diving GMT which immediately became my "go-to" vacation watch. Both I, and more importantly my wife, :-) did not see the need to purchase this one when there are so many other JLCs that are calling my name. N

 By: amanico : December 7th, 2012-13:04

Yes...

...I know :-)

Be strong! :)

Not yet

 By: Maverik : December 7th, 2012-12:17
Sadly I don't live with mine just yet. But the watch is terrific and therefore high up my list. As in fact any modern Memovox is. But this one a little higher. Nice photos by the way! Cheers!

I hope you will get yours, one day, Rik.

 By: amanico : December 7th, 2012-13:06
And that you will share some pics of happiness with us! All the best. Nicolas

Beautiful - more pictures on various straps!

 By: david3558 : February 5th, 2013-06:06
I just got the courage to take off the OEM strap from my Incursion, can't wait to get more straps, can everyone share what straps they are using?

Well, I love Natos, and the brown distressed strap shown above.

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2013-07:48
A tropic can work, too. Choosing the right strap is a big part of the fun, on the NSA. Best, Nicolas

Strap

 By: david3558 : February 5th, 2013-09:59
Good points - would you mind pointing me in the direction of where these straps are available?

As for the Natos, this is not a problem: Google Nato Straps.

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2013-10:02
You wil have tons of choices, and shops, near where you live. As for the distressed brown one, it comes from a famous strapmaker in Paris. As for the Tropic, well, it is you and your luck, as they are pretty rare and hard to find. The correct size is 22 m...

Haha thanks!

 By: david3558 : February 5th, 2013-12:24
Haha definitely - what's your favorite NATO? There are so many brands, I've tried Gnomon's but I have noticed that the springbar is very close to the case so I can't use a very thick NATO strap otherwise it doesn't fit very well. Thanks again!

My favourite Natos are made of cordura on the top, and leather under.

 By: amanico : February 5th, 2013-15:34
Unfortunately, I don't know where to find them. They were always gifted to me, by good friends, or they came with the watches I bought. But if I ever know where to get them, I will let you know! Best, Nicolas

The reason why I try to avoid your posts

 By: Mr.Gatsby : February 5th, 2013-09:46
Is because I'm afraid I'll succumb to buying another watch! This is a cool watch for sure mon ami. On my list, but after the Rouge!
