Gator not the issue

The gator straps are not an issue I have them on my JlCs it’s the satin leather that’s the problem. I understand some of the straps use to be made by Camille Fournet earlier

That's an interesting take, I had the Reverso Rio De Janeiro for at least six months, wore it quite often during that time, neve had any of the crumbling issues....

Could because I am very careful with my watches, my JLC Geographic from 10 years ago still has the same gator strap. Well sorry to hear about your experience either way.

Reverso Rio De Janeiro, wore it for six months without issue or crumpling... Strap looked brand new when I sold it.

Yes, satin is not as long lasting as croco

My wife has a JLC with satin strap. It disintegrated after about 6 years of very occasional wear. The satin surface disintegrated and the powdery residue stained her clothing. She wasn’t aware of the source of stain until she returned the watch to the box...

Hello, Thank you all for your input - very much appreciated ! It's interesting that there seem to be a few different experiences with the satin straps. I might end up playing it safe and going with leather, but I'll keep my options open and take a look at...
