Dive watches for diving
There is a class of diving watches (out there) that have novel accoutrements and the Blancpain people have just released the X fathoms.
I thing that it is a reasonable assumption that these 'divers' are not intended for real(pragmatic) use in today's diving world.
They are, as with all mechanical watches, further exploration into the art and imagination of horology.
I think that it assumed that luxury watches will live up to the demands of a harsh environment (and most of them do) but we don't (or at least I don't) buy them for that purpose.
We like the idea of them, the imagination, the design, the workmanship, the engineering and the good fortune to be able to buy them!
Of course we expect to be able to wear them in the depths of the ocean or at the peaks of the Himalayas!
They must live up to the claims by the manufacturers.
why does a lot of people don't like the PRO GEO DIVER ???
well, I like it ....., but a little survey on an other site pointed out that a lot of them didn't like it, so convince me now serious, the question was a bit tricky as I wanted to sell my EWC golden "Rossi" for it and that just stirred up things i guess !...
Maybe – even being a technological marvel – because it’s excessively big…

The edge of a metal 'rectangle' coming out at 9 o clock
is my first guess. Also, the business of the dial. The colors are not ordinary, white or black etc. This is a very specific design for hardcore JLC guys, IMHO.
