I've had great luck with my 5002 BP movement. My Miramar big BP stopped but was due for service anyway, which was handled quickly by the Texas service center. I'm sad to hear the perpetual module is not good. I was hoping to add one to my life eventually.
Mine too - IWC called it "Ardoise"
If only that movement was not so erratic, I would still have that watch...🥺

They still sell them and people are buying them. But on my wrist there were issues with both the base movements and the perpetual calendar module.

Mine is the updated, twin barrel caliber, and has run smoothly for three years. (Knock on wood...) ...
iPhone shot makes it look bigger on the wrist than it is.
7" + wrist seems to let me get away with up to 45mm diameter, assuming short, curved lugs.

BTW, IWC is reducing the PPC size back to 42 mm this year.

Though it's been so long since I've seen the earlier 42mm model in the metal that I can't remember if the subdials felt cramped. Still, a much more wearable size...
