I took this shot of my now departed PC's...😃 ...

Mine too - IWC called it "Ardoise"

If only that movement was not so erratic, I would still have that watch...🥺

Lovely PCs, sad to see them leave your collection also...

What are their replacements in the stable?

Sadly none...

I've had three of them and they all spent more time in Schaffhausen than on my wrist. So, I pretty much lost faith in these complications. This was the third: ...

That's horrible........

the Portuguese has always been my cup of tea in terms of styling and masculinity, sad to hear about the issues.

It must have been me because...

They still sell them and people are buying them. But on my wrist there were issues with both the base movements and the perpetual calendar module.

5000 movements

I've had great luck with my 5002 BP movement. My Miramar big BP stopped but was due for service anyway, which was handled quickly by the Texas service center. I'm sad to hear the perpetual module is not good. I was hoping to add one to my life eventually....

Beautiful white gold..

.. wonder if they have solved some of these issues with the updated Calibre?

Some pictures...

...and in "Ardoise" with the double moonphase

Mine is the updated, twin barrel caliber, and has run smoothly for three years. (Knock on wood...) ...

iPhone shot makes it look bigger on the wrist than it is.

7" + wrist seems to let me get away with up to 45mm diameter, assuming short, curved lugs.

44.2, to be precise. [nt]

Right! I just rounded the number to the nearest millimeter 😉

BTW, IWC is reducing the PPC size back to 42 mm this year.

A good call on IWC's part, I think!

Though it's been so long since I've seen the earlier 42mm model in the metal that I can't remember if the subdials felt cramped. Still, a much more wearable size...

Makes sense! [nt]
