Yikes

The deciding factor in moving down the hill from the Peak, where I first lived in HK, was one night in a taxi going home, driver was geriatric and erratics, it was raining, the cab spun out and went, slowly, into a wall. No harm done but that was the last straw, and as I had no desire to own a car in HK and was sick of being reliant on taxis, we moved to where we could walk most of the time. You’re right about the bus drivers being mental too, tho.

Now I’m about to move to Riyadh - the metro has just opened but I won’t be able to avoid joining the ranks of car owners for the first time in 20 years. The question will be: EDC for the desert city???
