I got to mess with one yesterday via a local AD in Toronto. The frosting on the back, hands and overall finish are all top tier and absolutely gorgeous. Congrats on picking this one up. Like other said it really makes the other Lange look like a toddler’s watch lol

They still have a couple of models in 44 mm housing the calibre I and should be able to house more complicated movements.
The Friedrich II and III are 39.2mm with tapered lugs so the fitting is great.

Yes, when one takes a closer look, you will notice the high level of polishing, bevelling, and frosting (instead of stripes), and the beautiful hand engraved characters at the back. I need to take a better pix of the back....the blue screws all look like ...

Thks! It looks minimalist and simple but upon closer examination....as you described, it is pure traditional craftsmanship.
And the diamond endstone on the balance cock is a special touch.
