They still have a couple of models in 44 mm housing the calibre I and should be able to house more complicated movements.
The Friedrich II and III are 39.2mm with tapered lugs so the fitting is great.

Thks! It looks minimalist and simple but upon closer examination....as you described, it is pure traditional craftsmanship.
And the diamond endstone on the balance cock is a special touch.
