Urwerk - 25 years old this year.

Pretty crazy to think this year I believe marks Urwerk’s 25th anniversary.
Urwerk was not on my radar 25 years ago; Rolex was the end game and all one could ever want in my mind !
It wasn’t until 2012 (I posted about this here before) on a trip to Singpaore that I first got the opportunity to strap an Urwerk onto my wrist. I’d seen them before, probably in SG on prior visits, but until then not had the urge to ask for the SAs to take one out of the case.
For whatever reason on that trip I plucked up the courage to ask to see that somewhat crazy looking watch. That first experience was a 103, which is now perhaps THE classic Urwerk.
I didn’t know enough, wasn’t comfortable enough with the watch on my wrist and altogether not convinced to take the plunge at that time. But I had the bug.
Several years later I was convinced and I purchased the 105-CT. With some great advice and encouragement from several folks here. To this day, this watch remain my most satisfying purchase, a statement I think some of you might find surprising.
Wearing it earlier this week, after not strapping it on for a little time, I was reminded why I love it so much and also it rekindled memories of many great trips to Singapore over the last decade or more. Hopefully I can return soon, 🐓 .
Let’s see those Urwerks.
I’ll start with my 105-CT :
