Whereas the manufacturer could have just shown you online proofs (easily made, and truthfully, fairly close to what you'd expect, but not for the picky), you'd never get a sense of the exact color and finish unless you had it in your hands. Ambient light, finish and paint material could produce many variations of the same screen color.

The idea of a ceramic dial sounds interesting. Is my understanding correct that the primary advantages are the longevity of enamel without the risk of cracking?
