Not A Great Brand's Sweet Spot
I am a very enthusiastic Parmigiani admirer, and have "auditioned" the Pershing twice, once at a brand-sponsored dinner and once at my AD. I wanted very much to be impressed, but walked away unexcited on both occasions. There isn't really much of an apples-to-apples comparison in the product line, but the Kalpagraph is as close as one can get, and that seems to me to be a hugely more appealing watch at (steel vs. steel) a comparable price point, so long as the Pershing's apparent additional ruggedness isn't required.

I personally love the Parmigiani Pershing line and think it will be the line that gets them noticed more. If you like Panerai and Offshores, you'll probably like the Pershing line IMO. They are large watches but they fit small wrists due to the great icon...
Among their lines, I really like their Toric and Bugatti, the
Kalpa and Pershing do not speak to me. Pitty that Toric is now restricted to grand complication / unique piece.
