Look beyond the Form..
Moser is pretty much a fully integrated manufacturer.
The Swiss Alp, while being a “take” on the Apple watch, nevertheless is a great piece of engineering.
Caliber 324 used in the watch is a shaped form- movement with the Straumann escapement ( which can be easily interchangeable) and packing a solid 96 hour power reserve.
In fact this very movement did duty long ago in the forgotten Henry Double Spring, where it had one unique and extra feature of two vertically-stacked hairsprings for greater accuracy.
The double spring was too expensive to build and regulate and hence dropped from the HMC324 in its new Alp avatar.
Dimensions: 32.0 mm x 36.0mm / height: 4.80 mm
Frequency: 18,000 Vib/h
27 jewels
Power reserve: minimum 4 days
Hacking seconds
Moser teeth for all wheels and pinions
Interchangeable Moser escapement
Original Straumann Hairspring® with stabilised Breguet overcoil
Gold escapement wheel and pallet fork
Movement and components hand-finished and decorated.
More importantly the Swiss Alp will be limited by the stock of HMC324 caliber , which has been stated to be approx 400 only.
IMHO these pieces represent classic watchmaking.
