Is Urwerk getting into a straight jacket?
Urwerk seems to be getting themselves into a design rut. They are unable to transition out of the trapezoid case shape as well as the satellite disc of rotating numerals.
With design paralysis setting in, the risk of them not being able think out-of-the-box and come up with a clear departure by way of a refreshing offering is a frightening possibility.
Tinkering with case materials or skin level cosmetic changes are likely to alienate the Urwerk collectors that became the brand patrons simply because of those path breaking avant garde offerings early-on.
The problem is exacerbated by vitrue of the fact that Urwerk has till date, focused more on design and simple industrial finish than anything by way of artisanal decorative finish. Unless they are able to come up with a real path breaking next release, collector interest may switch to alternatives.
It also does not help that Urwerks are priced a bit more to the North!!

1 of the last 3 releases was satellite. The satellite is their core watch and so we are always going to see iterations on this.
