Independents

I agree, but artists need patrons.

It is certainly a shame when an artist, whether a watchmaker or another variety, sells his work to somebody who doesn't appreciate it sincerely.  It is more of a shame, though, when an artist must abandon his work because he is unable to make a living creating it.  Well-to-do casual purchasers may grow to appreciate their purchases more fully with time.  In the long run, I hope that most works of art will find their way to people who will cherish them...maybe even myself...at a great second-hand price. smile
