Hey Indies fellows, As I mentionned it some days ago, MB&F has finally released its new LM today, it's a smaller and thinner version, taking its DNA from the Legacy line. Erice Giroud for the Design and Kari Voutilainen are still in the boat for this ...  

Do they lack of new ideas? As you can see I am not impressed so far, but I like the idea of such a watch in 40mm. Cheers, Oliver

Well Oliver I think the LM line is more conservative than the HM line, and I think it's meant to be so. It remains a classic watch with a bit of MB&F uniqueness. I wasn't looking for a real novelty here but another version of the 2 LMs we already knew... 

I understand the move to 40mm to get more mainstream for classical watch wearers but... Its just a bit... Boring (when compared to the beauty of LM1 and HM2). Cheers Andrew

Andrew, yes that´s it. Maybe it´s meant to be CM instead of LM - Cash Machine, you know ;-) So far quite a few people seem to like it, also (or mainly?!) because of the lower price. At least there is a lot of talk because of the price. Does it get more se... 

Whilst it is great to see the new movement developed in house, and a smaller case size, first impression is that aesthetically it is far from the beauty of the LM1 and LM2. It is being talked about as MB&F's most affordable to date, but it is not that... 

but I understand your point. I think I would also prefer spending a bit more to reach the LM1 (easy to say when don't have the budget for any of them but that's my feeling). However I think it's a nice addition though and that it allows more indies travel... 

Iceman have chosen. As it is also 16mm high, I wait to try it on my wrist to give more advice on its wearability. Whatsoever, a good move from MB&F to reduce the size to 40mm. Regarding the price, quite high from my point of view. To be seen in the fl... 

It is still a good move from MB&F and it deserves to be seen in the metal. And I would go for the WG too as I also felt the same when tried the LM1 and 2 on. Cheers, Mark

40mm, hours and minutes only, power reserve, blending tradition with modern technic, fully in-house movement, in precious metals, very similar price point... sounds really familiar! For me, the DB25 does it better.

I will just mention the movement finishing is higher on the LMs than on the DB25 power reserve (automatic). The LM has a classic and very well finished caliber. The finishing of the DB25 is more modern and doesn't have much beveling work. Maybe it would b... 

It looks and feels fantastic on the wrist. Kudos to Max for making this "compromise" for us with smaller wrists! ...  

And I must say the tilted dial layout looks better here than on the official pictures. Thanks for the shot Allen. Mark

Very well finished, always interesting and more wearable but a little something is missing compared to the great LM1 or 2. Funny as it reminds me of the 5712's layout. Cheers, Mark

Somehow to me, the problem is this. Previous dial layout (where we all appreciated the symmetry) should have been transposed on this 40mm case. It would have been perfect for people with small wrists! Now that they have made the watch more wearable at 40m... 

I say this because as much as I am in awe of the LM1, the most important thing about any watch is how it wears on the wrist. I have a small wrist and Max must know by now that the affluent Eastern market will be delighted to wear watches of his which are ... 

The size matters when considering other markets and the brand needed to fulfill this hole in the collection. An yes, I'm also very happy KV keeps on being part of the show on this LM. Thanks for sharing your point. Cheers, Mark

I like the new layout and the smaller size. My only complaint is that I'd have preferred a sub-second dial instead of the Rdm down at the bottom. Maybe it's from too many years of collecting pocket-watches, but a small dial at 6 o'clock on a non-chrono th... 

a very nice move which will need a little more time for MB&F usual fans to understand fully. Concerning the PR vs Small second, I understand your feeling. I think I could feel the same but it is also the kind of difference that I like to see in an MB&... 

I welcoe this version so much…such a refreshing iteration,still keeping the DNa of MBaF ,the movement and spirit…I can definitely see this on my wrist.. just love it…can t wait to see it live…thanks Mark Mo

I think it is not something that all MB&F fans will fall in love with but it brings something the LM line didn't have yet. And I think it is not only a simplified version of the LM1 but trully a strong addition. Glad to read your opinion on that news ... 

Size is welcome but not enough price difference between it and the LM1 or LM2.

I am saving for a Lange Zeitwerk, but came across a picture of this watch this morning and it caught my attention so vividly! I prefer this over the 2 previous versions (price point also one of the considerations).

Well HM, the Zeitwerk is trully a fantastic piece and you have a nice project there. You will need time to weigh the pros and cons of each as they are quite different (philosophy, finishing, complication of the movement...) Keep us in touch of your future...

It will be priced at CHF60,000. Although I am not sure if the price is the same for both metals.

I hope you do not mind my clarifying on the price but I have just called MB and F in Switzerland and they have confirmed that both white and rose gold watches will be priced at 52,000 Swiss Francs (exc Swiss tax) and 56,000 Swiss Francs (inc Swiss tax). T... 

Just had to make sure that the watch was 'affordable' because after reading some of the replies stating that its price difference with the LM1 was minimal, it got me a bit down hearted but now I am somewhat relieved. I just have to rob one bank instead of... 

I will come back with a review of the watch. Fx ...  

The watch actually looks more minimalist and less fussy than I expected but that is no bad thing. Looking forward to your review before I Invest in this piece. I am torn between a Vingt 8 by Kari and this watch which has his input but looks more unique. P...

I always enjoy seeing what's new from this brand, and this one is no exception. The size, dial layout, complications and overall "look and feel" just plain work for me. I'd say this is my favorite so far. Thanks for posting. Darren
