Great report and stunning watch!
I really love the movement side where it appears a lot of black polishing was done. I am not a fan of locating the crown to the backside because of both aesthetics and hygiene, too. Finally, I empathize with your lack of local watch buddies. I too feel remote and wish for local GTGs. We have an AD who tries to promote GTGs at his store but he has had little success so far. In the meantime, this website does a great job filling the void.
