Recently I saw this marvel...since then I'm on an endless dilemma just to decides is it the dial or the movement that is attractive ! this example is made by Luca Soprano for Perpetual Gallery. Grained salmon dial is sublime, refined & spot on ! The hands...  

And I really like this dial more than the Shapiro one. I didn't realize it was only 38mm.

...if I loved it I would buy it. Power reserve not great but not a deal breaker for me...

Isn’t it a bIt odd/misleading the watch isn’t signed/ Co-signed with the makers name? Even if it has the blessing by thePratt family. Do You know if Derek Pratt also designed the dial and case?

Others might have better details on Derek Pratt....what I know is most of his pocket watches were Guilloche dial & the one he did for UJ was White dial with Roman numerals.

So suddenly using his name as a “brand” is, in my opinion, very speculative. He was a very humble soul who kept to working at the bench under other names doing some of the best watching available. I also see the “Invenit” inscribed on the back plate leavi... 

I feel like any other watchmakers, Luca will have his learning curve, he might figure out to use his name in future or bring in rest of elements consistent to Derek Pratt. This dial is particular as it is made for Perpetual.

Going train is between base plate and dial making the architecture stunning imho

Overall very refined timepiece I believe

The movement does remind me of Ferdinand berthough FB2

Now it makes a lot of sense

It ticks all the boxes

But visually simple as most gear train are hidden
