...and were I richer back in the day I would own one (a different reference). I was corresponding with Roger at the very onset. However, these are too thick to be 'perfect.'
I checked out one at one of the big auction houses and the $ doesn't match up for me though I could see how one could rationalize the price just on the origin story, the myth, and the build philosophy.... like buying art value is real subjective here....
Also, I'm very perplexed by his low output. 12 watches per year, or thereabouts. Just seems very artificially low to me. Must be the chillest job in the world!
the pricing is way too high but yet I have gone against all logic and placed an order (with my AD who has a slot in the long queue for its customer) for a Series 5. Not too sure of the delivery date yet but I'm really looking forward to it.
I have never seen one of these in the flesh. I’d like to though so I can be better informed. I will say that I am a bit frustrated with all the publicity for his watches. They are primarily about one of his watches selling at a high price. I’d love to hea...
I think it's a great looking watch. I remember that you helped organise a Purists lunch, in London, back in 2009, which Roger Smith came along to. He seemed a really nice guy. I think that at the time the watches were about £40k. All the best, Jon
