Basel 2015- Sarpaneva
Last friday I had the pleasure to meet Stepan Sarpaneva and try on some of his watches. I am finally ready to acquire a Sarpaneva, but still have to figure out which one. The only thing that's really clear is that it needs the famous moon phase. But I guess that's a given.
Picture:
- In the upper left corner an intimidated Nautilus (Stepan was really into that watch btw)
- left the enamel dial
- in the middle the Northerns Lights 'Green Goblin' (yes I'm starting a nick name ;-) )
- and on the right side the blue Northern Lights
The Green Goblin lights up like crazy in the dark (see his Facebook site), the blue is a bit less out there. The purple Northern Lights (black DLC case) is a different thing all together. I have no pictures of them in the dark btw due to it being day(light).

The Moonshine remains a very attractive watch (concept?) as well.
Now back to my quest. Despite being 46 mm (rather have a smaller diameter) I very much lean towards the enamel dial or the blue Northern Lights version. To me it's important (after some watch flipping) that a watch will remain it's appeal over a longer period of time. Comfort is also right up the scale of importance.

So in the end I still do not know which watch to choose. Also had the rose gold enamel dial 42 mm Northern Stars on the wrist. Lovely! Way more dressy than you would expect from a Sarpaneva. Apart from being above my budget (there is more on the wish-list) it is a bit to dressy for me. I'm getting myself a Sarpaneva; it has to be a little bit out here right?! So am I a coward when I lean towards the enamel dial? Should I just go for a black badger dialed version?
