I am a firm believer in diversification...do you see yourself sporting a gentlemen"s watch on your wrist? a Lange or Patek or VC perhaps? i can only add to the body of wisdom already rendered here...

1)take your time..

2) dont listen to the sales representative...always discount what they say by 30% AT LEAST!!! but listen t fellow forumners, and give premium of 30% -

3)oh yes...dont pay premium for Limited Editions, if watch is available in regular production

4) go for best of breed...eg Piaget or VC for ultra thin movements or AP RO or Nautilus for sports watches.

5) this one is just personal...but i think yellow gold is back in fashion and is going to be BIG in 2012...only if you are fashionable sort of guy. I dress like a cross between a hippy and pauper, and look like one....so i cant pull it off.
