I personally like the front less than the PP, but the movement appeals to me more.

Besides the white gold and blue details on the dial....

I fully understand this preference.

I would have to go for ALS

Far superior? Maybe, but I personally like the vintage charm of the PP a lot.

To be honest Lange makes boring dials and the absence of applied indices is also a solid drawback. Still the dial of this 1815 looks quite fresh.

I find the ALS styling comparatively boring. The Patek is much more interesting to me.

I also think the Patek would be better on the wrist from a slimness and comfort perspective.

I think it's not so much about Patek for me: it's more about the vintage vibe of the 5170J (at least I think that's what counts for me).

I can understand that with the cutoff numbers on the ALS. I have Vacheron as no. 1 on dial aesthetics.

Patek - all the way. Much nicer dial, nicer case and I also prefer the Patek movement.
