I have never owned a tourbillon watch, but am fascinated seeing tourbillions gyrate on watch dials. After seeing tourbillon watches for many years, I started to seriously look for one these past few months. I found one I liked and luckily it is one I can ... 

In 1801 " if my memory serves me well ) the Tourbillon had an interest: Fighting against gravity. Made for pocket watches or deck watches, well, watches which were always vertically or horizontally used. With wristwatches, it is different. And truth to be... 

One of the things I always think about is what will it cost to repair? I can only imagine that it would be a hefty price tag.

Some are even hidden in the case back (Patek, Voutilainen) but some are a spectacle to ogle at on the dial. Some aren't even accurate from my experience since tourbillons benefit pocket watches more than wrist watches in general. I currently own one tourb...

It took me a year to decide after trying it on at a Montblanc dinner. Amazingly the chronographs did not do anything for me (immune to their 13.21 and 16.29 movements after having seen so many) but this tourbillon kept me awake for many nights over the ne...  

People neglecting this brand has made it affordable for me

Many might not take it seriously as it as Montblanc but those in the know, know that the finishing on this watch is second to none.

One day in the future they will receive the recognition they so deserve.

I think tourbillons are fun but I don't love when compromises are made to the balance size or finishing, then it feels like the tourbillon isn't a net addition to the watch but more jammed in there for the sake of having it.

as I prefer dials without holes... but when I saw the attached one I knew this would be the one due to layout and looks. not for accuracy although it is doing quite ok. due to its size I look at it quite often when wearing it - people probably only see a ...  

When talking about simple watches it doesn't have to be the haute horlogier, I still love Tudor and others a lot But looking at a grande complication .. for me the complete package must be on par. I've sen Tourbillon from Zenith and entry level JLC tourbi... 

....but I would prefer the mechanism to be seen only from the back the way Patek (and only a few others) does it.

The huge jump in service costs, more moving parts for no benefit, etc... all turn me off buying one. I feel like you get a tourbillon level spectacle from things like a fusee and chain, exposed balance, etc... without any of the associated service costs. ... 

IMVHO wristwatch tourbillons are collector’s items. They have no real horological interest today but for some brands they show the highest level of finish a brand can offer. And they are quite fascinating to admire. I own one only and I love it. For its t... 

I can summarize my reason for acquiring a tourbillon in one word: "looks". Maybe "fascination" is next because I am "fascinated by the looks" when it is moving, My chosen one has the tourbillon on the front of the dial. I want to see it to appreciate it. ...

tourbillon is a cash cow for the manufacturer. this one may be worth it.

The prices of tourbillons are sky high. I am sure that JLC costs much more now.

So having a diverse collection if possible would be ideal.

Hmmmmhhh… Personally I have developed from a neutral and unemotional observer to a Tourbillon admirer. I’ve always been intrigued by the technical mastery behind the tourbillon, especially its origins with Abraham-Louis Breguet's innovation in 1795 (sic!!...  

And to see your beautiful watches too. They are so fantastic looking. Mine is pretty ordinary, dress-watch style in PG.

But I had a wonderful conversation with folks at Roger Dubis at Watches & Wonders about how a tourbillon allows them to stack the escapement and keep space available for other complications And I have to admit the charm of an avanturine dial with just...  

I saw the Frederique Constant is also getting in tourbillions. And at price points that are relatively reasonable too. I went to a Roger Dubuis presentation a few weeks ago, and that is where I finally decided I "need" a tourbillon. (Like it's a must. Ha ... 

but when they're exposed on the front they look like a hood scoop on a 1955 Chevy.

I understand "holes" in the dial. I am not a fan at all. I avoid watches with date windows at all costs if possibe. But having a tourbillon hidden "under the hood", seems a little sad or wasted IMO. But I do agree there is that "hole".

What I found has a higher beat (28,000) so I guess it will look pretty "violent", but the cage is relatively large. Similar in size to the one on the VC in your link. I will post pics of mine after it finally reaches me. You can have a look and please fee... 

It would use more energy, so you would have to have more mainsprings or thicker mainsprings to have a good power reserve. Congrats again!
