Horological Meandering

Wearing All My Watches Now; Part 8 of 10 (?)

I'm on a quest to wear all my watches in 10 days, so I can be confident that none of them have been neglected throughout all 2018. I'm sure a question in your minds (as in mine) is: "Will he have 100 watches or not?"

This morning the theme will be "Seikos on Bracelets with Christmas Decor".

I started the morning with a cup of Darjeeling tea. There seem to be an infinite variety of tea gardens and preparations ...

#71 Seiko Sportura Kinetic Chronograph. This is a mecha-quartz type movement - a hybrid between quartz time-keeping, and mechanical time-measuring. A reassuring snap on the reset button will convince you it's not all quartz inside. Kinetic means it has a generator inside, instead of a battery, to provide power. This dates back to 1999-2000.

#72 is a Ltd Edition Kinetic Sportura Chronograph, known as SBCG003 with 9T82 movement.
It's got an enormous sapphire crystal covering the 5 subdials, a ceramic bezel to protect the case, and a 7-segment bracelet. It's 44.2 x 13.8mm for this 40th anniversary of Seiko Chronographs,.

Moving along, and outside, we have the opposite end of the spectrum, but still a Seiko on bracelet.

#73 Seiko 1520 movement (10 x 20mm) in men's stylish watch

#74 Grand Seiko manual wind movement on bracelet, SBGW001. I've had this for about 10 years!

#75 Seiko 5 with big Moon and "diamonds"  For a BIG surprise regarding moon phase watches, CLICK HERE

I bought this watch early in my collecting days when I thought I could get every one of Seiko's watches that had a moonphase complication. I gave up after about 30 watches, and have sold almost all of them but this one.

This is the morning group, and it turned out that I have enough Seikos on bracelets to get through the entire day! Yay!
My wife is on a walk with a lady friend, which gives me time to wear & photograph all the rest of today's watches in the next few hours.

It's kind of cold this morning, even in the house, so I put on my only long-sleeve Hawaiian shirt and slipped on (another) new watch:

#76 Credor automatic 7-blue-hander, with hours, minutes, seconds, GMT, day, date and power reserve. I really like this watch and its cousin, the Credor Spring Drive Moon Phase (which I haven't shown you yet)

#77 Seiko Perpetual Calendar GMT, one of my favorite traveling watches. Even though it's winter, there's a recently-remodeled hummingbird nest outside my back porch.

Here's a better view of the dial, while I check to see if my battery is charged up enough to start one of the four useless old cars that are cluttering up my garage!

#78 Seiko Scuba Solar Diver 200M titanium. I see the hummingbird too, as I take this photo.

Here she is:

#79 The almost matching Seiko Scuba Diver 200M Quartz Chronograph in titanium

and some bees hard at work milking the agave flower shoot

and finally,

#80 Grand Seiko high-accuracy quartz on bracelet

Please come back for more ... I see I have enough Swiss watches to get through tomorrow, and then I might have to reveal my "secret stash".

Cheers,

Cazalea
