I have to think about it.
the one comment that i can make at this moment is that there may be no one true watch in each category. Having a series of one category is also a fascinating option. Also going deep into several brands or independents has also an allure. What makes one particular watch especially "better" or representative of the category over others is a very personal choice.
The bottom line is that we all have different theories of what it means to collect and develop a collection and nor should we be the same. It would be boring!
I do have to give thought over your words of wisdom and counsel. With my list as it is and the price point that they are at I do think that I must once again look and see what might be able to be moved.

Don't get me wrong, this is not as easy as it seems...
For example, the UN Sonata: I have an Alarm and a GMT, and a Big Date, One Watch in three: A Rolex GMT / A JLC Alarm / a JLC Septantieme, or a UN 160 Anniversary. Is this easy for me to move all my JLC Memovoxes / Rolex GMTs / and my Big Dates??? Hell, no...
