actually PP, UG were one of the forerunners of micro rotors along with Buren, Hamilton and Breitling. UG are a strange company, they have a great reputation for their tri compax chrono's, but no one knows much about them. best Graham

...under the leadership of Vince Lapaire, whom I believe is of a Cartier background. They still operate, but on a scale that is tiny compared to what they deserve. They actually released a new in-house microtor movement a couple of years back, UG 101 Cali...

i have a single crown supercompressor UN polerouter and i think the movements are great. well bought that man. although i would have done a bit of research before i bought it especially at the price they seem to sell for. best Graham

Not that the hands are a big deal. Great watch!

The watch does look nice, but here is why I think it's a Frankenwatch. The movement is too banged up, and the interior of the caseback is spanking new. The movement could have gotten this way if humidity came into the case, and thus the caseback would see...

the outside of the case and the obvious wear on the caseback are in keeping with the condition of the movement. the caseback should have the polerouter engraving on it, but that is worn away. mine is also pretty much worn away. i cant offer a good reason ...

I bought the watch online. I wanted honest opinions. I value the opinion of others. I have over 40 vintage watches, and all are original!!! I just have questions about this one I just purchased. NO ALTERIOR MOTIVES!!!

if you had started off with a please and thankyou, the minimum you would do if you were talking to us face to face and then responded when we spent our valuable time giving you our unbiased opinions of this quite nice watch i would have been less inclined...

Yes the Universal wtach you have bought is the real deal, I have one the same which I purchased in Singapore in 1962,new and still have it to this day, great watch
