ThePuristS . . . . PuristSPro

It's just a progression, a maturation. Depends on your perspective, but I always viewed PuristSPro as a slicker, glossier version of ThePuristS with additional functionality that allowed us to post images more easily, and individualise the appearance and browsing experience of using the site. The people, and essentially the content, were the same. Yes, people have come and gone, but that happened on ThePuristS as well. And yes, there are now adverts for some of the companies, but that is what makes PPro financially sustainable and provides a free site for us to interact on. Because I am basically an old romantic, I do miss the almost quaint architecture of the Network54 site (and I admit I used the N54 platform until the PuristS forums were only available over here) but there is so much functionality on PPro that most of us would have difficulty going back (it's like my first mobile phone in 1990 - I recall it very fondly for the freedom and connectivity it provided, but I wouldn't go back from a modern smartphone). And PuristS was always about the passion of the people involved. Thankfully platforms will not change that.

I stumbled onto PuristSPro really by meeting some interesting individuals at a GTG in Southern California, one was a moderator for PuristSPro's Glashutte Original forum and another was a manager at PuristSPro. At that time, I was really looking for some m...
