In general I tend to have little to zero interest in watches that are outside of any realistic chance of ownership for me.
Take Grubel Forsey for example, I’ve been in the room with some, I’ve had ample opportunity to strap one on the wrist BUT I’m really not that interested.
It’s never going to be a watch that I will own and so while I’ll know what it is and what GF are about I’m usually somewhat indifferent.
The same is true for any super complicated Patek; next. Or most of Richard Mille; next.
I’m not sure if I’m alone in this or if other collectors think similarly.
Of course there’s an educational interest or intellectual curiosity that is satisfied by handling these pieces and learning more about them. BUT I just settle for scraping the surface on that and moving on.
So what about everyone else?
