The launch of the Devon Works Tread 1
A few weeks ago the team from Devon Work flew 17 hours across the world to Singapore to unveil the Tread 1. They are all remarkably enthusiastic about their product, and also notably ignorant of the luxury watch industry - which is refreshing.
Devon Work is essentially a company created to make cool stuff in all product categories, from watches to clothing to automobiles to motorbikes.

Interesting watch...
...but it's ginormous! Look at it compared to the Gyro 2 (which is already large, but oh so delightful) and Richard Mille! Great-looking event, and I wish the Devon team the best with the launch of this timepiece. Cheers, Daos

as i said previously an interesting watch though im conservative regarding the size or lets say dimenssions of the watch, lets hope the tread 2 will have more wearble size . as i noticed from the pics that the non PVD version is more cleaner look wise ......

Now having seen the designer ...
the way the watch is designed and looks is not surprising .... If swiss watch making is one of the spectrum.... the devon is clearly the other end...

Wow! this piece is huge..............
But at the same a very interesting watch. It would not be a piece that could be worn on a daily basis, but most certainly be a converstaion starter!
Eevn though a smaller, seconds less, watch will be coming, could this be a daily wear...

I love the seconds belt
It's a lot of trill, seeing the seconds belt. And if you are checking power reserve, you press down the crown, and see the magic. Without the seconds belt, it's just instant jump
Depress the crown
For I can't remember how many seconds......then witness the belts start moving around, very robotic and production line....and voilà the per reserve gets displayed in the hour n minute windows
They need an App for that!
The Tread 1 seems like the ideal watch to have an iPhone app, about the same size A

We can argue till the cows come home, truth is when was the last watch we remembered that caused similar consternation and debate? Merits of the watch include the technology of the wafer thin belts, long PR, remote charging. Non intrinsic merits includes ...

...there's been that much consternation over it. My main response is puzzlement, hence my queries. Wafer thin belts? Nothing special, particularly when you examine the printing. And the pin-cog drive system makes me wonder how many good quality film proje...

Good point, SJX. And I concur with your thoughts re: Seiko, particularly in regards to the likes of AGS and then Springdrive. Yes, clockwork is obsolete. But does high-end watchmaking underachieve within the confines of mechanical timekeeping? Not so sure...

Now that it's launched, where can we buy it in Singapore/Malaysia? Is Sincere, Cortina, or Hour Glass carrying it? What's the MSRP? I think it's great to hear about launches and all but I think what's more crucial is WHERE we can buy the watch and how muc...
The last I heard they don't have a AD yet in Singapore n Malaysia
I suggest you contact them direct and book it. There is a waiting list now, I have been told, plus some delay in production.
