Horological Meandering

My 20 cents worth of opinion, VAT included.

We can argue till the cows come home, truth is when was the last watch we remembered that caused similar consternation and debate? Merits of the watch include the technology of the wafer thin belts, long PR, remote charging. Non intrinsic merits includes the design, "coolness", even non Swiss and non traditional!!!! Drawbacks are non Swiss and non traditional((!!)), battery powered, lack of heritage, easily copied design(I figure that (Guess n Diesel will have something similar soon) .

I personally think it's cool n hip, possess "up-yours' swissmade" attitude, contrarian, edgy and great for my failing eyesight. Time will tell if this is a one hit wonder, or the start as indicated by Bernard, of a trend towards non traditional Swiss generic watch. Belt technology is inspired by things like machinery, cars, planes....all areas Americans are renowned for(ok, cars element may be debatable) and are are market leaders in, and perhaps we are witnessing a shift, a trend towards that. And it's affordable fun, and not in the six digit $ category worn by people driving six digit $ vehicles, residing in seven digit $ homes. Lastly, I think of it as electro-mechanic.....as with all things, hybrid seems to be the way to go.

I would love to buy it, but unfortunately I have mounting bills and a failing national retiree scheme to worry about.
