The beauty of Lugs

The lug of a watch is not just a place to attach springbar. It is an integral part of the case, seamlessly connect the case to the bracelet or strap. It also plays important rule of comfort and "proper" look on the wrist. Not many brands put a considerable effort to design lugs with above points in mind. Too wide, too long, too short, or not in accordance in design with the bracelet/strap, result in awkward look. Omega is one of the few brands that, IMHO, design beautiful lugs and always put comfort as priority. The iconic "lyra" lugs found on speedmaster and seamaster 300 also slightly modified in planet Ocean, looks perfect on strap or bracelet. Here are my pictures showing different lug design of my humble collection. If you agree with me, please post your watch showing the beauty of the lugs....if possible at an angle which emphasize the lug. Cheers !

IWC, Omega, AP, and even Tudor do it. Rolex does not, and the fat lug of submariner is just plain wrong IMHO

Cartier did it perfectly! [nt]
