The auction house and some hype style sellers always like to use exotic words sell what can easily be called a damaged dial. Tropical - Star Dust - Spider dial - and that is just a few for damaged dials. I will take a perfect gilt dial any day over a hype...
The marketplace will judge the merits of this particular aging effect, but there's no telling whether rational thinking will prevail. Of course it is more fun to imagine a world where this watch turns around and sets an auction record for its model type.....
