Horological Meandering

Thanks for your thoughts

The only issue I have with the GS is lack of lume. I can't tell you the number of times in low light on a red eye I want to know what time it is? The Spring drive model is the only one with lume. I also read in the GS website that Seiko only guarantees part availability for 10 years. This surprised me. See the last page.

I am hearing from you that you feel a design should be popular and unchanged and reflective of a brands DNA and you feel the Breitling and UN do not (e.g. Like a Navitimer). I think the Transocean while out of sync with the breitling design language of late, does pay some hommage to some vintage models. i also see a bit of an omega speedy in it as well.

I really don't know what the DNA of UN is because it appears to be more about clever innovation in an Avante-garde way as best as I can tell.  Through one case size or dial variant they seem to continue to sell the clever +/- feature for over 15 years now.  Which watch expresses UN's DNA? They all seem to change as you've illustrated.

Regarding the Sinn, I am wondering how stiff the pushers will be and if the watch is just too large. I have no idea if the SZ01 modifications will change the feel or this is driven by their pusher style through a thick case? Unfortunately, in the USA, these watches are Internet only purchases. I sold my 756 Diapal for poor chronopusher feel and terrible lume.
