Horological Meandering

Now that SIHH and GTE is over, let's get back to business around here and do some horological meandering. So I have reached the point where my once cavernous watch box with 12 watch slots is nearly full. I have 6 pieces that are dressier by nature and 5 p...

I took one look at your post and was thinking that you need either a blue dial watch or a GMT to round it out. Wow, kinda scary. As far as blue dials, I have this one. UN also makes some divers that are blue, or their GMT is a great watch. I recently bou...  

So, post SIHH and pre-Baselworld 2013, after some consideration and online input (thanks to all), I have narrowed my choices for a "sports watch" to add to my case to these three-watches. Aside from speaking to me aesthetically in some way, they each brin...  

I\'ve had at least 3 watches from each brand and am now down to one Aerospace and 4 Sinns. Technically I think the Sinns are pretty bulletproof. And that watch looks like a Sinn but also a bit livelier (orange detailing!); it has a interesting movement; D...  

The only issue I have with the GS is lack of lume. I can't tell you the number of times in low light on a red eye I want to know what time it is? The Spring drive model is the only one with lume. I also read in the GS website that Seiko only guarantees pa... 

I have two Grand Seikos and a Credor. They are beautifully fiinished, keep great time, an mark you as a true WIS. :-) At the very least, you should see some Grand Seikos in the metal, if you haven't before. They are true manufacture pieces made in very li... 

I am sure that they are truly stunning watches, but.... 1) they don't make a mechanical GMT that can be seen on a dark airplane 2) as I mentioned in my prior post the parts policy of 10 years is a bit off putting Show me a GS with a mechanical GMT with so... 

To get lume and GMT, you have to go down (Ananta) or over (Spring Drive). A mystery to me, although the sparkling knife-edges on the hands do reflect even the slightest light. But I can report that even if Grand Seiko doesn\'t guarantee more than 10 years...  

I was merely surprised that they stated it. I am sure that they would likely honor it beyond the period. I had never seen a company state it on a luxury watch before.

In the end this watch added: - practical function in the GMT - a new set of color with silver and blue - a new brand Plus it was just so easy to use when traveling and no one will no what I am wearing other than WIS. I really was surprised to see the larg...  

UN is an interesting brand. In general, I more marvel at their mechanical ingenuity of their models than their design aesthetics. I find their aesthetics to be in general, bold and a bit Avante-garde for my taste. This particular piece is fairly conservat...
