I think the conclusion I have come to today after studying the spring drive concept a bit further, is that I will try it out in one of the more entry level models. It really is intriguing. I’m sure it is worth trying out, and they offer some really nice models that I’m sure I would enjoy. Jumping straight in the water with the Eichi ll is too big a commitment, I feel. As you say, this hobby is about emotion. The rest of the watch checks all boxes. So now my search for the right spring drive will begin

Here again is the plainly finished section, which I don't think they mentioned. Credit to Mike for the picture Maybe this is hand-finished, but plain. That seems likely the case. As I said in the previous thread, I may be mistaken on the machine-finishing...

It should be decorated for the same reason the dial facing parts are decorated. As Longfellow wrote: "In the elder days of Art, Builders wrought with greatest care. Each minute and unseen part; For the Gods see everywhere."
But clean circular grain done well is certainly finishing

It really depends what you mean
by decoration. If it is finished by hand , it means it is 'decorated' but still it can be 'plain'. Not all decoration needs to be fancy or stunning, some can be subtle. Now you make me want to open up the watch and take a photo...haha

You arm looks more powerful in one of them! I think of the high-end pieces I have been considering, it seems like the Eichi II strikes one of the best balances between wearability and service support combined with top-tier finishing.
Yes, Lange and Journe are in the sweet spot as well!
The Eichi may have the best finishing of all, though.
Honestly...you don't spend too much time
looking at those finishing. It's great that if they are super finish but some watch does not require that. It really depends.

They said, "Because it is our best movement" "Because it is our quietest movement" "Because it is our most accurate movement powered by a watch spring" Mike
If you already have a traditional good mechanical watch...
which I am sure you do, then this Eichi 2 will be a good partner to show the evolution of time but still stay true to the past. It does not use battery :P
