Horological Meandering

Some time ago I managed to find a set of signed prints the Worshipful Company of Clockmakers" commissioned from David Penney to celebrate their 350th Anniversary. It was a set of 3 drawings (Daniels pocket watch; John Arnold Marine Chronometer and Knibb m...  

It was a limited set of 250. Set 1/250 was sold during the George Daniels Horological Auction in 2012 but sold way above my bid. I was quite lucky to find this one surfacing up for sale recently. Cheers

Every man needs a cave (or "Fortress Of Solitude" as Superman called it.

... and I completed this book with two versions of his watchmaking, one in French and one in English. The drawings from Penney are very impressive, accurate and the colours are extremely well chosen, giving the drawings a true resemblance with reality. Ni... 

I brought the full set No. 71/250 when newly offered in 1981 and I still enjoy them every day as does the occasional visitor. The set turn out to have been a pretty good purchase in many ways. I am not positive of the cost however i think it was around 10...
