PARMIGIANI's Interpretation of Bugatti
Parmigiani, is a brand that is not as well known as Patek Philippe, but The Patek Philippe contracts Parmigiani to service, maintain, and restore most of the timepieces and automata in the Patek Philippe Museum. The Parmigiani Bugatti watch is a continuation of the multi-section horizontal oval tubular movement that the storied brand has been making for the past few years. This year, Parmigiani has three special pieces in their Bugatti collection.
The first design has a brushed gold case, featuring a beautiful and feminine 1920s look. The words "Great Gatsby" or "Tea Dance '20s" comes to mind. Elegance and charm.
The second iteration has a gold latticed cover over the watch to protect the large sapphire crystal that allows you to see the watch. This sapphire crystal is expertly made and a very difficult piece to manufacture. It has to be slowly and painstakingly machined from a solid boule of sapphire. The gold cover offers protection and beauty at the same time; satisfying form and function. The diamond pattern in the cover continues to quilting in the leather strap.
The third iteration is my favorite. Featuring engraving on a white gold surface, it has a masculine look that reminds me of engraved Purdey Hunting Rifles. The brown strap continues that theme as the wood stock on said hunting rifle. The baguette diamonds and the texture of the dial is extraordinary. The herringbone pattern in the engraving is continued in the leather strap.
The leather strap on the spare tire of the car almost matches the strap on the watch.
Parmigiani, the company that restores pieces for the Patek Philippe museum, has a reputation for quality.

Bugatti and Parmigiani have enjoyed a very special relationship. The Bugatti vehicles are atypical but elegant vehicles. These Parmigiani timepieces are also atypical and unusual looking timepieces. The Parmigiani watch is one of the most individualistic timepieces in existence, a perfect accessory for the Bugatti fan.
