The current Mrs MTF and I used to collect FPJ watches from authorised retailers and boutiques in Tokyo and Singapore.
We accumulated a "collection" -- tried to get one of each movement, always with or gris dial......all new and under warranty.
We fought over a few (she won; I have to "borrow" the...er...."my" tourbillon).
The majority of pieces went back for repairs and manufacturing faults but still we collected the brand (!), driven by the fervour of the PuristS' fan-boys....thank you folks!
We never posted any of the macro-photos of the movements, hands and dials at fault, thinking we were the only ones affected by a run of "bad luck".
Then, at a GTG, we discovered every serious collector present had the same "luck" as we did!
We sold off the whole collection and I think we kept 3 nominal pieces because they are still pretty to look at: Resonance, Tourbillon with Remontoir and Chronographe.
Plus, two of them had already been repaired so we knew they worked.
Regards,
MTF
