rationalization, or control?
Hi Nicolas,
I think product rationalization is probably the reason, but it looks like overly tight control over choices. I can argue (as later in the thread) that making a new dial, while not free of design and production costs, can probably be done more easily, and in smaller volumes, than cases or movements.
I look at Habring, and to a lesser extent Dornblueth, and I see many attractive options. I don't expect a big manufacturer to have this degree of customization possible, but perhaps more than we're getting now?

IS what you said Dear Nicolas as production rationalization and the extra time and funding required for product development and marketing and in case they are offering a dial variation then the end buyer get charged a premium price for that again they ask...
