PVD is a method of coating, DLC is a type of coating
Physical vapour deposition is a method of depositing a thin coating on a material, various types of coating are available including diamond like carbon (DLC), titanium aluminium carbon nitrate (TiAlCN), amongst others. I do not know what exactly Sinn coats the Tegiment steel with but I believe it's TiAlCN or similar.

Some info...
Case is 44mm in diameter and 18mm high. The material is the same as the other U1 series, submarine steel from ThyssenKrupp, all Tegiment treated; the black version is PVD-coated as well. - SJX This message has been edited by SJX on 2008-01-19 18:56:11
